Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese practice of achieving harmony with specific placement of certain objects in your house or office. How does this pertain to you and especially your fish tank? A person according to Feng Shui has an energy source called Qi. Qi is the person's "energy" and can be affected postively or negatively by their surroundings. Luck, health and prosperity are usually the main focus for Feng Shui.

fengshuifish.jpgHaving a fish tank or aquarium can help increase positive Feng Shui in your life. It is said that it can help increase wealth and luck by having one in your house or office. The main belief is to have 8 goldfish (as gold symbolizes wealth/luck) and 1 black fish (to absorb any bad luck). Most common fish tanks practicing this belief uses goldfish. I have a goldfish tank in my office. Keeping a tank of 9 fishes in your office/home sounds simple but requires much more.

goldfishtank.jpg

In order for a good flow, you need to keep your tank cleaned and to make sure your aquarium is healthy. Unclean tanks and sick fish can cause "bad chi" to emit from it and instead of giving you good chi, it'll do more harm than good. There's alot more feng shui belief about this so if you find it interesting, let me know what else you find out.

Now I know most of you don't have goldfish tank but you can take the same principles and apply it to your own fish tanks.

1. Keep your fish tank clean
2. Make sure your fishes are healthy and are in an environment suitable for them.
3. Appreciate what you have set up and take the time to enjoy your fish tanks.

To me personally, it's just more enjoyable watching a clean tank than a dirty tank. So after writing this, I will be cleaning my goldfish tank at the office today.

I’ve 2 QUERIES.KINDLY EMAIL ME THE ANSWERS TO kamalbando@yahoo.com.

1.) According to Vaastu/Feng Sui are we supposed to keep 9 Gold Fish and 1 Black Fish or 8 Gold Fish and 1 Black Fish?

2.) 3 days back I bought an Aquarium and 2 Gold Fishes died yesterday itself.Water is of good quality and I gave teh same food which the pet shop provided me.Light over the tank was OFF when they died.Till the time it was ON they survived for 2 days as the LIGHT was on continously.May I please know whats the reason that they died and what are the factors which really matter these fishes and how can I keep them alive?Does the LIGHT have any impact over the fishes?
3.) How to breed the Gold Fishes? I want to increase them in number. How may I do that?

Plz reply to my emailid as well.Thnx a Ton.

1. keep 9 gold and 1 black. black is suppose to absorb bad luck that would’ve gone to you. so if it passes away, that means it took the bad luck for you.

2. did you cycle your tank? if not, look up cycling your aquarium before you put any fish in. also don’t leave your lights on continously. have them on a set schedule. get a timer to make it easier.

I am so confused about where to put my 55 gallon tank in my home!!!! Right now it is in my front room and in the NW Sector well The bagua says thats where it should be. now I reading that you should never ever put water in that sector becase it’s bad for spirit somthing or another IDK.

Does anyone know where i should put this to increase my wealth and prosperity area

Is it true that fish tanks should not be place in the bed room?

I currently have a 2ft tank with puffer fishes and another 1ft tank with a purple jewel cichilid.

How does it affect the feng shui and what i can do to balance it?

After it’s deth what should we do of it’s body ?
Regard’s
Nilesh Trivedi.

Star MK on March 21st, 2009 12:25 am

HI Nilesh,
I really like the way you care for your fishes. I am sure my suggestion is very late for you now, but dont worry it will help you in future.

Firstly treat the dead fish with respect. dont put your hand or spoons or any other objects to pick them, use the fish net , remove them and take nice clean newspaper wrap it up, put in clean plastic cover and then dispose it.

The fishes may die for various reasons : unhealty water is main reason, meaning..the water might look clean..but the ammonia will be increasing high,,,this is also by excess food given to them.so dont over feed them…that may cause their death.

Hi !,

I have heard that sharks are not to be kept in the aqaurium in the house as per feng shui, is it true that they bring bad luck. I have a 100 litre tank facing my main door & i have a variety of fish a few of them being subankin gold (5nos), gold (1nos), Black moor gold (2nos), loche (3 nos), Rainbow shark (red tailed) (2 nos), Silver shark (2 nos), koi carp (2 nos) & a sucker fish (shark again). If raising sharks is a concern then i might actually trade my fishes with a friend who has a bigger tank & similiar species of fish & would probably get a whole new species of cichlids. Please advise.

I have 9 gold fishes in the aquarium. 8 gold and 1 black. I bought these fishes 9 months ago. There was no problem with these fishes uptill now. The fish tank is also serviced once in a month. But yesterday my three fishes died – two gold and 1 black. What could be reason for this. What does this indicate. Does this bring any kind of bad luck.

I want to understand how an aquarium or fish tank is going to affect our life. Is it not going to increase a new task of your daily routine and extra money to be spent.

we bought 8 gold fish and one black moore and placed them in north west corner of home, since I heard that it dies with negative energy, I ensured that no outsiders be invited over, however a month later we had surprise visitors who saw the tank and one died instantly, eversince all are going one by one, they were very dear to me and I named them beautifully, now I am left with 3 and the blackmoore too has gone, hope their soal rests in peace, We change water and clean tank monthly, give tonic and stress meds whenever required, treat the water with med provided by the shop and feed them and check temp timely, where are we going wrong and what is the significance! pl help, anyone…

i have bought a new small aquarium, where should i keep in ma home?plz help me guys

Valar on July 30th, 2010 5:51 pm

This is the best advice.
Firstly you have to buy a really big fish tank.
Then add 8 gold fish, 1 black fish, 2 transparent fish, 3 fluorescent fish which are visible in the dark(glow in the dark). Also add 2 invisible fish. You can buy them on the website, but they are expensive because they are invisible.
Then climb into the fish tank, and close the cover of the tank. Now you became the 17th fish.

Feng-shui is not fake. Understand the significance of anything before blindly believing stuff. Why will somebody give you free information, if they know you will pay for it?

Knowledge was never free.

Fish & aquariums should not be kept in the kitchen, bedroom or bathroom — it is believed that if they live there, will attract material loss. You should place it in your prosperity side of you house use a bagua or the east part or you house

Hi, someone told me that having Fish tank or Aquarium are bad if you have one family member whose profession a seaman? is this true?

krishnendu on May 23rd, 2012 9:54 am

to increase wealth one can keep SILVER ARWANA alone in a tank.others can keep DENISONII (MISS KERALA ) a rare quality aquarium fish..works highly in increasing wealth..it really works. Always keep your aquarium in the north side of dining room. never keep in living room..change 1/3 water every week. fish will never die..

Hi guys i am starting a new setup , I have been to the local fish store I am setting up a nice 4l 2b by 3h . I am planning to put a tank divider diividing it into 1/3 and 2/3 .. All fish will be juvinilles . The 2/3 will house 9 gold fish ( orandas, redcaps, blackmore) and a silver juvinile arrowana while the 1/3 I plan to keep a flower horn . The divider will be black and with plants hence the flower horn can’t see the other fish . Will the arrowana get along with the gold fish . The bio filters will be state of the art and I plan to buy a 200 g tank after a yr n half for when the arrowana and flower horn get real big .

Please advise if this is ok thanks ,I am a beginner so need help

I was told by feng shui consultant and have accordingly, one small aquarium of about 1′ x 1′ x 1.5′ size with one black moore. Now adays I have started feeling guilty for keeping lone fish. the feng shui consultant insists on having one black fish only.
is there any alternative? can I keep just small running water kind of gadget instead? will it serve the purpose? thanks
