man! so should've gotten that test kit earlier. would've solved alot of issues. my nitrates are off the chart! no wonder i couldn't keep much alive. geez. lesson for everyone from my mistakes...get a test kit! even though some corals and fishes seem to be okay....my tank would've been happier...
