yea. need to run the skimmer when you dose this. so far...just smells like vodka whenever i dose. haha. skimmer isn't really acting up as much yet.

i never had issues with the hikari brand of food. good job on getting some specific types of food for the different fishes in your tank. just make sure not to overfeed.

used to ship fish online. i think i also ordered a few times online (couldn't find those dang flagfishes) and had no issues as long as the shipper takes proper care in shipping them.

he was already stressed and not eating enough at the fish store is my guess. a fish wouldn't have a sunken belly like that in just 2 days if it was being fed well and healthy. sorry to hear about the loss. you can try some octo cats as an alternative.

yea. i didn't like water testing but until you are stumped and don't know why..and do a water test..everything becomes much clearer and you wish you did it earlier. :)

great to hear the water is clearing up. have you stopped dosing the safestart and stability bottle? wondering still if those are messing up your results. your filtration system sounds more than enough. could be the water changes you're doing too that is keeping those levels low to zero.

i really need to get a pump like that. thinking of having to carry the containers of water out is tiresome..this would make it easier for sure and probably make me do more water changes since it'll be easier.

what other fishes do you have in the tank ?

maybe the safestart or other components you're adding is kinda screwing up the test results (where your nitrates are 0) is my guess but i am not sure. i would continue to do some small water changes and then watch the fishes for signs of stress. i assume over time the cloudiness will start to...

i had to connect my python to an outside faucet which was okay since that ended up being the closest and i could put a bucket underneath it to catch the drained water to use to water the plants on my fw tank.

sorry that your fish is experiencing this. i think usually anything yellowish is more infection maybe? i'll do some research for you and let you know what i find out.
