Thanks!
Yes Kelly that IS a puffer in the bubble stream. They like swimming through and riding the bubbles.
When I got rid of my Mono and Scat I was going to get rid of the chromide too because I was afraid of what might happen putting them together, but at the last minute I decided to keep him and I'm glad I did! There have been no aggression issues at all. In fact Mr. Big Bad Cichlid seems a little afraid of the puffers, but they leave him alone. If I ever find the right size healthy F8's around here I'd like to add at least one more, maybe 2. The only ones I have seen have been adults.
Those are 2 Whisper 60 filters.
I've read that the nerites are pretty difficult to raise in home aquariums. Once they hatch they go through a free swimming stage and it's hard to get them enough nutrients in a typical 'clean' aquarium so they rarely make it past that stage. Feeding insuforia helps, I guess. Also, unlike most snails they have a defined sex....so I might not have a male and female, I might just have 2 females. The eggs are hard and crusty on the glass and I agree they are hard to get off. I scraped a couple by accident and they kind of 'pop'
Maybe one of these days I'll set them up in my 2.5gal and see if I can make babies - that would be a fun project.
