lets all try to solve this problem....

my figure 8 puffer that is in my 20 gallon tank has recently decided to randomly chew at the silicone in the corners of the tank.

my worries are:
is silicone going to harm him?
do small puffer bites make enough of an impact on the silicone to cause a leak?
why is he doing this and how should i stop him?

by the way, he is completely healthy, actually a very healthy looking puffer. his roommates are 4 turquoise rainbows, 1 moray, and 2 bumblebee gobies with absolutely no aggressiveness towards or from anyone in the tank.
salinity around 1.08. parameters all check out fine.

I doubt the silicone will harm him, but I would worry about the integrity of the tank.

Perhaps he is bored. You could try moving decorations around to give him something new to play with.

I'm assuming he's getting enough crunchy foods.
