    Aquarium stand

Or get yourself a Titan-Eze metal stand that can hold two tanks (upper and lower). I've got one that can hold twin 75/90/110g tanks. I wouldn't necessarily steer anyone away from a 55g tank. They're versatile and cheap when you can get them during $1/gal sales. 55s are typically the...

    What Did You Buy Recently?

Yeah, I've been itching to window shop my LFSs, but trying to avoid it for obvious reasons. My tanks are pretty much stocked. I did somewhat recently buy some sad looking plants that were marked down at Petsmart. "Top Fin" plants that are sealed in a plastic bag with a cardboard box...

    Sick Pleco

What was your normal water change volume and frequency? Is this a common pleco? Those can fill out a 55g tank by themselves and still have difficulty turning around.

    Getting help with fish diseases

Should have started a new thread on this Parknut, but being an oscar keeper myself there's LOTS of info we need. How long have you had the oscar, what size tank is he in and what are your water parameter readings?

Why do my 2 fantail goldfish just float in the tank????

Cute goldies! You need a standard 29g tank at a minimum for two fancy goldfish. Fancies get the size of a big fist. Old school rule of thumb for fancies is 20g for the first and 10g for EACH additional. If they're floating, they may have swim bladder issues. One of my fancies has a bit...

    stupid pleco died

If this was a common pleco, which it probably was, they can and will grow to well over a foot long. They require driftwood to rasp their teeth on and are messy fish.

Hey! I could really use some more help please?

Britnee, Like we talked about in your other threads on this, it's going to take weeks to establish a nitrogen cycle in your tank and is going to be a labor intensive process given the stocking level you have in the tank. Also.. like I believe has been suggested, do you know anyone with a...

    Hello

Sounds like nice setups. The only issue with the pleco is, if it's a common pleco, they'll easily get a foot long or better and have to curl up a bit to turn around in a 55g tanks.

    Black Moore Goldfish eye problems

Pretty sure it was a one hit wonder arcab! As soon as you start talking water params and water changes, folks turn green and moon-walk out of the room.

New 75 gallon African cichlid tank! Have a question

I'd skip any additives and use a quality dechlor/detox product like Prime or Safe as mentioned above. This is going to be a lot of work having a tank stocked like that with no nitrogen cycle going on. One thing I forgot to mention on your other thread, but is there any change at getting a...

    75 gallon Cichlid tank!

Absolutely love the setup! That's a LOT going on there. A tank full of African cichlids can be a joy, or can be nothing but chaos and carnage. Main thing is establishing if your tank produces nothing but nitrates or not and having a quality dechlorinator on hand that can (temporarily)...

Neon Tetras keep dying please help.

Chrissy, welcome!! Sounds like you've got a nice setup going. 75's are great. Good sized tank, nice footprint, but not too huge. The fact you indicate no nitrates could mean you don't have a proper nitrogen cycle going in the tank, or you're not following the nitrate test instructions to...

New 75 gallon African cichlid tank! Have a question

0ppm for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate for any length of time isn't possible for a tank with fish, so something is up.. What dechlorinator are you using?

New 75 gallon African cichlid tank! Have a question

Britnee, welcome to the site! Unfortunately water color/clarity has little to do with water quality in the aquarium world. Given this is new, uncycled tank, loaded with fish, the only component you're going to see is ammonia. This tank is going to require pretty much daily water changes to...

The Best Gravel Vacuum Cleaners For Your Aquarium

I paid under $40 for it a bit over 2yrs ago, but I had a coupon. LOL. It's been used once a week for 2.5yrs. The only catastrophe I had was one of the first times I used it. I had a different hose with an ill fitting thread connector at the time. The connector blew right off the pump...

The Best Gravel Vacuum Cleaners For Your Aquarium

Yeah, I do the 5gal bucket-toss for my 29g and 55g. The 55g's buckets get carried out the front door and tossed on the front lawn. The 29's go down the toilet. I don't really mind it because it's just these two tanks. ~50% weekly water changes for both. Bucket toss would be a pain on my...

    Black Moore Goldfish eye problems

Yep, sorry for the issues! Black moores are cute buggers. I love goldfish and keep some myself. Can't really come to a conclusion without knowing more info, such as what are your water parameter readings in PPM for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. What other fish are in this tank? What is...

The Best Gravel Vacuum Cleaners For Your Aquarium

On two of my tanks, I basically never vacuum the substrate. This is on my 55g and 29g with plants. The 55 has gravel and the 29 has sand. Both have corys that sift through the bottom and stir it up. On my oscar tank and goldfish tank, I do a pretty thorough gravel vac every week during...
