This guy is just off the plane today. It is a young Congo Bichir, Polypterus endlicheri congicus - only about 6 inches long. It will eventually reach its adult maximum size of nearly 3 feet, making it one of the largest of the Polypterids. This species is one of the 'protruding lower jaw' bichirs where the lower jaw is slightly longer than the upper jaw, giving the fish a crocodile-like appearance.

Let's see....as of now I have the following bichirs:
Polypterus delhezi - 2
Polypterus endlicheri congicus - 1
Polypterus ornatipinnis - 2
Polypterus palmas buettikoferi - 1
Polypterus palmas polli - 1
Polypterus retropinnis - 2
Polypterus senegalus - 2 'Normal' and 3 'Albino'
Polypterus sp. 'Congo' (Zaire Green) - 1
Polypterus weeksii - 1
Erpetoichthys calabaricus - 1

Right now the P. endlicheri congicus is in a 20 gallon Long grow-out tank with a couple of the P. senegalus of about the same size. I have LOTS of pics of the fish. If you're really sure you want to see them....let me know and I'll start another thread.
