No slight intended . . . . It seems that a lot of fishkeepers, as they become more experienced, start getting into plants and a whole 'nother level of obsession takes hold
Some hardy plants to start with - and that should withstand most of the abuse from cichlids - are anubias, java fern, java moss, and floating hornwort.
Also, looks like you have a small pleco in one of your tanks . . . throw in a piece of driftwood for it - you can attach anubias and java ferns to the log too . . . .
