My daughter has fallen in love with the ghost shrimp at the local fish shop. She wants some to hang out with her guppy but I'm wondering what food source would provide the iodine and calcium that they need? The guppy gets both betta food (which is mostly freeze dried blood worms) and algae flakes. But I don't think either provide the extra iodine and cal. the shrimp needs.

Suggestions?

A lot of people say it has to come from the diet, not the water.

I've heard a lot of people use dandelion leaves (high in calcium), but my cherry shrimp never went for them. I've used the HBH crab and lobster bites, and shrimp seem to really like them.

Many of my shrimp only get flake that's left over, and seem to do well on that.

Many ghost shrimp prefer lower water temps than usual tropical tank conditions, and low nitrates are important, too.
