cold water guppys?????

i was jst wondering if ne1 could tell me some cold water fish? not gold fish (no offence 2 them i think tha r beautiful but my partner thinks tha r plain) i went 2 a pet shop n tha had cold water guppys. i thought that wasn't right so i went home n rang my local fish supplier n he said that tha would live 4 about 2 months til winter comes then tha would die. does ne1 knw bout any such thing as cold water guppys? if no what other pretty fish could go in cold water? any advice would b reali appreciated!!!!

I've got guppies in cold water, and they do fine and breed. They are all the feeder guppy kind though, the fancies are less hardy and really need warmer waters. Where are you? Whether they would die over the winter might depend on where you are.

White cloud mountain minnows are good coldwater fish, they're kind of like coldwater zebra danios.

A feeder guppy is one of the ones that doesn't have an insanely long tail, and is usually sold as a "feeder guppy" for much cheaper... 5-12 for $1 usually, depending on where you go. They also stay a little smaller.

im not exactly sure about this house ive only been here since september. but i'ld say about 10 degrees (australian terms) but that would b at night time. i'l find out 4 sure n let u knw 2morow. thanx*SUNSMILE*

im asking 4 my friend. i have a heated tank but jst 2day i found out that pet shops here dont use there heaters this time of year. my friend went and brought a heater 2day so i think it'll b ok now. thanx guys!!
