    Aquarium stand

Wow! I had no idea snails could do that! Thanks for the good advice! I have checked with a couple local stores, and there are a couple left to check still. I did find a local store that had really nice oak (solid) stands for sale. A little pricey, but probably well worth the cost. If I can't...

    Aquarium stand

Yea, that had to be wrong about acrylic not scratching. I am having a hard time finding a stand that isn't made of particle board. I really like the wood stands but seems like real wood is hard to find for some reason.

    Aquarium stand

Thank you- that's great advice! I appreciate that. I think I'll stick with glass for the tank. I've always had glass and never had any problems. I read somewhere that acrylic doesn't scratch as easy but I think that's wrong. I've had my current tank over 10 years and it doesn't have a scratch...

    Aquarium stand

Hi everyone, I am looking to upgrade my tank to a larger size and need some advice. Can anyone tell me which is better, acrylic or glass and why? And here's the big one- I'm trying to find a stand that looks good and is sturdy. I see a lot of nice looking stands out there, but when you read the...

    Neon Tetras Spawning

Hi, Thanks! I thought it was awesome too!! :) Well I hope I can answer your questions- I have a 40 gallon tank that's a community tank and a 10 gallon tank that I call "the baby tank". I have guppies and platys and so I have babies on a regular basis. I scoop them up from the main tank and put...

    Neon Tetras Spawning

Hi everyone, After many failed attempts, I have finally been able to breed my neon tetras! This morning I saw them spawning and I saw the female drop her eggs!! Had I not seen the eggs falling down to the bottom of the tank, I would have never known because they are so tiny. Here's my question...

    Baby Neons Baby Corey Cats

They look like that- but not exactly. They have very round heads and long thin tails. My coreycat fry have always looked more like tadpoles? I guess? Plus, these fry didn't come from Coreycat eggs. My Coreys have the egg-laying thing down to a science! About every 2 weeks they are laying eggs...

    Baby Neons Baby Corey Cats

Yep, I think I'm waiting! I've been looking and have not been able to find any pics of baby Neons. I guess I'll find out :)

    Baby Neons Baby Corey Cats

Not the greatest picture, but here they are! What di you think? They ate longer and thinner than the baby corey cats I've had in the past. Could theae little guys be Neons?

    Good morning everyone!

Thanks! I have been really lucky with my cories. Its like running a dating service I tried different males and females together in a breeding tank with no luck for the longest time. After I gave up on the idea I noticed eggs on the side of the tank! I used a butter knife to remove the eggs...

    Baby Neons Baby Corey Cats

I have fry that have hatched 3-4 days ago. I am not sure if they are baby Corey Cats or baby Neons. I have had quite a few Corey Cat babies grow up in my tanks, but this is the first time that I know of that my neons have had eggs. Can anyone tell me how I can tell if these are neon or Corey Cat...

    What's up with my Corydora?

I agree that it seems to be pretty normal. I have a couple of clown plankos that do the same thing. They go from just chilling almost look like their sleeping to racing around the tank at lightning speed and then they settle down and just sort of hang out for a while. Its like when a cat gets...

    Good morning everyone!

I have been a long time reader of the forum and have benefitted many times by the great advice of all of you. I finally drcided to join too. I have had tropical fish since I was 13. we'll just say a long time ;) Over the past couple of years I have become interested in breeding guppies...
