The Cylindricus Cichlid (Neolamprologus) is from the Southeastern part of Lake Tanganyika in Africa. These cichlids are considered one of the smaller size cichlids. Their maximum size is approximately 4 inches. They are silver with many dark vertical bands on its body. The fins also have an outline of blue to make it stand out more.

The Cylindricus Cichlid should be housed in at least a 30 gallon tank and can be kept with other smaller Tanganyikan cichlids. However, they can be aggressive with other Neolamprologus cichlids so it's best to not keep them in groups.

Nice fish! There aggression is easily controlled with plenty of rock work and varied small feedings. I fed 3 times daily, high quality flake in the morning, frozen spiru-brine after work, and spectrum thera-a pellets before lights out. Adults will grow long sharp k9 looking teeth, giving them a very “pike like” appearence. A great fish to breed or keep in tang. community tank.
