    CAPSLOCK's 75g mixed reef

Well, here is my new (used) tank: My 40B had a slow leak at a seam (salt creep along the seam), so I took the opportunity to upgrade to a 75g. The back is spray painted with plasti-dip - I used blue for one layer and black for another, which yields a nice darker blue color. I'm really happy...

    Bye little guys :(

    New 29

Depends on what you like (and/or what your son likes). I like to pick out a "must-have" fish and then build my stocking list from there based on compatibility. If you're cycling the tank ahead of time - really cycling, with ammonia, not setting up and letting it run fallow - you can stock with...

    Blue Gourami sick?

Or even an abrasion - did he dart into a wall or dive into a decoration? Nice sharp photos BTW.

    Blue Gourami sick?

To me, it looks essentially like a bruise - it has gone from "fresh" red to that brown that bruises get. Like some form of trauma or an internal injury, that is no longer bleeding so the red color is fading to brown. If he is acting more normally and eating, those are good signs.

    Molly acting very strange

Could be ich. Or another parasite that likes the gills. Flashing and shimmying is itching, usually that means a parasite of some sort.

    Bubbles Bubbles Bubbles

Bubbles can be from the filter output - water level will change these bubbles. They can be from happy plants. (Pearling) They can be from certain fish that build bubble nests (not guppies or neons though). They can be from extra organic nutrients in the water, causing a film of build up on...

    Pink long goldfish poop

Stringy poo is often parasites - Prazipro is a good fish dewormer. And is safe if you have plants, snails, catfish, etc.

    What Did You Buy Recently?

Nice light! One thing with the fancy LED lights is hanging them - how do you have yours up? I am still on T5s for my reef (Aquatic life 4 bulb fixture), but the sleek little finnex planted plus LED on my planted tank is sweet.

    NEED MY GUPPIES BACK......

Most stores should carry guppies, or be able to order you some nice ones. Otherwise, you might have more luck finding hobbiest bred guppies through a local aquarium club - we are pretty well spread out here at MFT.

    Iridescent shark is sick

Could be something like parasites / worms. Could also be simply age related - mass in the abdomen or something along those lines. What have you tried to feed her? You could try something like live ghost shrimp to stimulate her appetite. If you are seeing anything reminiscent of worms, prazipro...

    Redoing a gross tank

You don't have to use an actual tank for it - a rubbermaid tote will work just fine (no HOB filters on totes, they have a tendency to fall off... also make sure the heater isn't against a plastic wall of the tote). I've also used Home Depot buckets. A brute trash can works well for this also...

    20G Live Plant Tank Setup

You actually want to start with plenty of plants (like you did) as they will start using all the nutrients right away, so they aren't available for algae. I thought "tree stump" with your driftwood as well. Is it on a base or just balanced well in the substrate?

    Fish getting caught against filter

Not upside down, but some filters are adjustable so that you can set it to more or less flow. In this case you'd want to set it to less flow if possible. There are some stickies at the top of this forum about cycling a tank. In a nutshell, fish produce ammonia, which is toxic. In a mature...

    20G Live Plant Tank Setup

Very nice! I love the driftwood. You've got a nice natural arrangement between that and the rocks and the overall aquascape.

Starting my first saltwater tank :)

As stated, 75g is a good sized tank. Sounds like you are wanting to do an aggressive reef? You can do that a few ways - easiest is to do more or less a FOWLR but with some non-demanding corals thrown in. Either way, anemones need strong lighting, good water quality, and a mature tank (6+ months...

    Redoing a gross tank

Is there anything alive in the tank now? If no, it will be easier to just tear it all down and take your time setting back up with whatever changes you are doing. Or if it is covered in particularly invasive pest (ie, bryopsis, aiptasia) that you want to eradicate by bleaching the rock. If the...

    Fish getting caught against filter

As you're doing, more hiding options may help. If the filter is adjustable, turn it down. You can add a sponge over the intake - something like a filter media sponge that you cut a slit in and then slide the intake tube in there. Did you cycle the tank? If not, be keeping an eye on the ammonia...

Sorry to say I have no idea. Can you shoot a picture to the fish vet?
