Are you looking for a coldwater fish other than goldfish, one that helps keep clean, and you have a tank/pond of 55 gallons or more? You might want to think about the Chinese Hi Fin Banded Shark. Here is a picture of one.

-Coldwater or Tropical, suitable temperatures range from 50*F to 88*F.
-Can be kept with fish including goldfish, discus, and gouramis.
-Adapt to a variety of water parameters.
-pH = 6.5 to 7.5 (can be fudged up or down 0.2 points)
-Very lovable and friendly
-Cute little faces.

I've seen them before and agree they're beautiful when young - they are real tankbusters though if they reach a mature size. I thought just like the rest of us, that they lost their youthful good looks as they age.

Yup. Thanks for your input and the link. Interesting information. Not all of them get that weird pink color. I have seen full grown ones with grey and black. Much more appealing!
