does anyone out there have skills in using real wood in there tank. i have found a few nice pieces down by my local river, i just don't know if i can use them in my tanks or what i need to do to them so i can put them in my tanks... HELP!!!!!
Is the wood solid, with no signs of rotting,if it is roots that have been growing under water they should be safe providing you give them a good scrubbing and then pour boiling water over them,if you are unsure do not take the risk. 8)
[move]If I were you I would make sure that there is nothing wrong with the wood and then wash it VERY thouroughly and then let them set in boiling water for about 10 minutes then you can try and add them to your tank.
I have a similar question so I thought I'd just stick it here instead of making a new thread.
My mom dug up her grape plant that wasn't growing very well. She has to two happy muskadines (sp?) now with some yummy fruit ;D . I washed all the dirt off the roots and they look really cool. Would it be okay to put it in my tank? Or would it rot?
