I have a 150g FW now. I also have a 29g SW. In my FWI have a long list of fish:
1 Bloodfin Tetra
1 Gold Gourami
1 Red Flame Dwarf Gourami
Fred (Pleco)
2 Tinfoil Barbs
3 Columbian Sharks
3 Bala Sharks
3 Rosy Barbs 2m/1f
3 Tiger Barbs, Standard/Albino/Green
2 Black Mollies
2 Silver Mollies (Sailfin)
2 Orange Mollies (Lyertail)
3 Dalmatian Mollies
1 Glow light tetra
2 Sunburst Platys
2 Marigold Platys
3 Full moon Gold Platys
2 Red Wag Platys
2 Bruised Platys
2 Snails
1 Red Clawed Crab (likes to eat my plants)

Do any of these fish do ok in BW? I know the mollies and scats will. I do add IO salt now but only in small doses.

What kind of plants can I work with?
What kind of compatibility do the different BW fish have?

With a tank this size can I put some of the more aggressive fish in as well? GSP or F8? Here are pics.

The mollies would do excellent in a BW tank. The crab might, but I'm not sure.

When considering BW make sure the fish you get are compatible, not just in temperament, but in what SG they do best in. F8's do well in low-end BW, while GSPs need high end/full marine. If you want a community tank stay far away from GSPs, they are extremely aggressive, and need 30gallons per fish.

F8's are less aggressive, but still need about 15gallon per fish. (Puffers are very dirty, and need more space per. fish than most other fish).

Scats are awesome BW fish. Goby Dragons and Bumblebee Goby's are good too.

Most BW fish get huge, so you won't be able to add too many to a 150gallon.

As for plants, there's a nice list here:
