Well, my first casualty in quite awhile. My blue gourami has been troubled for some time now. He thought it was time to breed, but had noone to breed with in the tank. His color was ever changing and one day when I came home from work, he was swimming around the tank a little crazy like. He did a flip or two in the water then just sunk to the bottom. The water tested great, 0 nitrite and ammonia and only 5ppm nitrate with a ph near 7.2. I checked him over when I got him out of the tank, and he showed no signs of beating, stress, or lack of stress coat. Other than the color change, the fish looked just fine. It was a sad night and my poor lil guy got a proper funeral, with my girlfriend saying some nice words about him. I don't think I am going to replace him though, the tank has enough activity with the other fish in there as it is. He was a beautiful fish.
