Quick Bolivian Ram question

At what size do they atart to breed? I bought a male and female 2 days ango and there both about 2''. And im going to say that i got them from a Walmart...yes a walmart! But this walmart is the best one ever cause there tanks were way clean, NO dead fish, and the lady that was getting my rams actually knew stuff about fish and the only fish that they had that would out grow there tanks were Oscars and Pacus, but the lady told me that she is going to take them to a lfs and get something to replace there tanks.

I would say if you get a pair right now they would start breeding.Thats how big my rams are.Maybe just a little bigger.

A couple of keys. Temp 81-82 degrees, and feed frozen bloodworms 2-3 times a week. That will prep them for breeding..

Im feeding them Live Brine Shrimp. Will that help them start to breed?

My male is now showing some aggression to my female. Is this common when they're wanting to breed or do i have a problem going on?

My male GBR gets aggressive to my female around breeding time. This happens when she gets fat with eggs and her ovipositer starts showing.

You can usually tell when they are going to lay eggs, they start cleaning a flat surface and IME the male starts flaring.

Thanks for that Helena! I haven't seen any cleaning from either one of them, but this aggression just started yesterday so ill wait and see.
