protein skimmer?

would placing a protein skimmer on a brackish tank be a good idea? with the way that brackish fish eat and make messes, wouldn't placing a skimmer on the tank make sense? just looking for some input...

I personally dont think that it would do much. IMO youd be better off to treat your brackish tank as more of a cichlid tank in terms of filtration....just have good water movement and lots of mechanical and biological filtration. Most brackish tanks dont really pack the salinity for a skimmer to work properly anyway, unless your brackish is damn near marine I wouldnt bother
