Pleco Problem :(

I have a medium size pleco in my 29 gallon and he is starting to run out of algea. I have bought some algea pellets and just want to know what else should I feed him? I know you should feed them vegetables but what kind? Thanks.

Cucumber,courgette,peas lightly boiled and then remove soft centre to feed your plec, lettuce leaves scalded to help break down the cellulose, some dealers use potato to fill them up, I personally do not think there is much protein in potato, stick with green stuff. 8)

I use Zucchini, tied down to something with the end chopped off. I use half a zuc and they love this. When it starts looking too soft a couple days I chuck it for the other half. All my fish love it, not just the Plecoes.

I use the algae pellets and the cucumbers they love both of these ;D

For my bristlenose cats i use zucchini slices, they sit on them all day. I have a few cories and some kuhlii loaches too that like this. I also have sinking alea wafers, they all attack it as soon as i drop them in. (so much wiggling)

Sorry, courgettes are called zuchini in the US 8)

you can't feed it to them everyday...i feed mine with it 2-3 times a week.

Peresonally I don't want to be food to anything! Weird. And the pleco is fine. He LOVES cucumber. I love that saying 'GET IN MY BELLY!' That is so hilarious we used to say that about our really obeise b*****y teacher.
