Steve, that looks like a killer rock formation on the right there: Got a better picture of that?

Also, how do you trim your vals? I planted a bunch in my tank to add some taller visual elements, but now the rest of my swords and stem plants are grown near to the surface and I want to cut back on the vals. I'll probably just yank some of them and scissor a bunch more off at the water line.

I've had it up for close to 6 months now, I guess. I'd have to check the log back at home to know exactly.

My Jungle Vals got eaten into submission, but the Italian Vals survive and thrive. I recently wondered why my moneywart wasn't more obvious and hunted around for it. Stumps. I blame a gourami for the vals and a bristlenose for the moneywart.

Mann i cut my val back about every 4/5 weeks i take it down 4"below the water line.the aponogeton in that pic has been eaten.i had a major snail outbreak last mth so i picked up this synodontis to lend a hand
