I just got a new peacock from a lfs and it looks like it has black "pepper" looking stuff on parts of it. Almost looks like ich. From what I read, it may be black spot disease. I am wondering, how can I get rid of it?? Will the fish make it?? It is healthy looking besides this, and I probably wouldn't have bought it if I saw it at the store. Please, any help would be good. Thanks in advance.

If its black spot the parasite cycle stops at the tank. If you have snails you need to remove them until the parasite dies. Keep the water quality top notch so infection at the parasite sites do not get infected. If an infection does occur there are antibiotics for this. Its just a waiting game, the parasite will die with no other host to repeat the cycle, this is why the snails must go. Your fish should be just fine in no time.
