i dont think that its cyano. cyano is usally a dark red color and the way its raised up off the powerhead doesn't sound like cyano. cyono will usually just cover everything. is it one solid object? or can it be easily broken up? if its a solid it might be a sponge of some sort

after looking uo the other persons suggestion i new it was not that it is a solid but it is not hard its got body and its not growing any were else just there and when you touch in it doesn't fall apart

I would think its a sponge. Its in the right place for them, they like high flow areas so they can feed.
