i found this one idea on another site where this one guy took som 1" pvc put shells in it andhot glued screen on each side of the pipe. this allows the pods to go inside them and repodeuce before being eaten by fsh. its prettymuch a refugium inside the tank. you could even hid it under you lr. no one will ever know. hope this helps!

Although that might not provide enough for a mandarin, it does work really well. I installed a piece of 2.5" pvc for the mantis i was gonna get, and although i got an octopus instead, the pvc is swarming with little pods.
