Making a small tank out of wood and stuff for fun?

Anyone ever done something like this before 1 to a 5gal? i wanna do it for fun and a small learning experience i plan on just going to my local hoby shop picking up some cheap small pieces of wood and putting it together for fun what do you think i need to bind it together and hold water also what could i use to seal it on the uber cheap? i wanna do it mostly for fun.

It's a two part tutorial on how to make an aquarium, although it sounds really expensive to me. You could get creative with it. I've seen people make fish tanks out of recycled computer monitors.
