Could anyone tell me what light is best for a piranha tank?

We have a standard glo-light in there but the fish tend to prefer it when it is darker. We have fake plants across the top of the water to filter out some of the light.
Is a moonglow light good for them?

Thanks.

It really depends on the fish. You can use tinfoil to block out some of the light and just poke holes in it. My pygos are fine with the 50/50 lights. I use smaller lighting on my other piranha tanks because they dont have live plants. I know some people dont use any light on the tank because the fish tend to freak out, but if you put the lights on a timer they will get used to it.

Thanks for the advice grosse.
My hubby went out and bought a "bluemoon" tube light.

The fish are happier and much more active now. They mostly ate when the lights where out but the new light doesn't bother them so much and they eat with it switched on.
