One of my 10G native tanks contains 6 pygmy sunfish and 6 ghost shrimp..well I figured I would throw some convict fry in the tank for the sunnies to munch on...I just clanced over and saw one of the ghost shrimp falling to the ground holding something..I was like what the hell happened to it now??!! Then I see it is holding a convict fry..somewhere I missed that ghost shrimp were predatory to the extent of taking out 1/4 long fry...Learn something new everday..just wish I had a camera.

If a shrimp can grasp a fish, then yes it will go for it, chances are it was either another type of ghost shrimp that went under that name or you had a weak fish. I have spawned a lot of fish and raised them till 6weeks of age in a shrimp tank and never had issues with ghost shrimp, but if I have any weak ones, they will catch them...same goes if I were to throw daphnia in, if they can catch it they will
