Is this normal?

My male betta makes that bubble nest thing in his tank every week or so...but he's in a 5 gallon tank all by himself. Is it normal for male bettas to make that bubble nest thing without a female betta to be anywhere around?

I'm no expert but I wouldn't worry. Maybe that shows he is a healthy fish.

I'd say let him get on with it, he is obviously having fun.

This is a great sign of a healthy fish! You are very lucky, or should I say both of you are! He is showing that you are taking great care of him, and in return, you get to watch him blow bubbles! LOL.

P.S. Most males don't need a female around to blow a bubble nest.
