I'm amazed at the advances led lights have come in such a short time for plant and corals. Two years ago it would have been a joke to try and grow anything, now its just another option.

it has the shimmering of metal halides...and best of all..less electricity and no heat. i can put my hands in the tank w/o feeling like i'm being roasted when i was using my MH. my corals seem to like it. the anemones seem to retract when it's on so it must be bright or too bright.

was going with T5's but the thought of having to buy bulbs every year sucked. LED are more expensive but if you calculate the long term cost...it's better.

Anyone have first-hand experience in using them on a planted tank? Does it count for low/medium/high light?
