ID Snail

I found a snail in my 20g!!! It's about 1/8 in. (2.5mm) in diameter. What is it? Could I breed that and feed my puffer with it?

Yep, its a ramshorn. Those are perfect for puffers!

There is probably more than one, you just can see them yet. Next time you go the the lfs, see if they can give you a few. Set them up in something, it doesn't even have to have a filter, and they will start breeding. Eventually you will have plenty of them for your puffer.

The only snails that you don't want are Malaysian Trumpet snails, which look like ice cream cones. Their shells are really hard and can break the puffers beak.

The pet stores here never have anything when I get there. I even checked myself. I'll keep a lookout in the 20g for more. Thanks.

I put him in the 5g to get eaten since I couldn't find another and he seemed to be getting lifeless...? I don't know if Weebo ate him though...I found another one in the 20g while cleaning today so I'll try to keep that guy alive. I'm keeping an eye out for more!
