dunno the exact answer to your salt question since i dont have a brackish tank myself, but the pl*co thing is a superstition that if you type out the name your pl*co will die *celebrate

i do half hte recommended amount of instant ocean for my brackish tank

I also use instant ocean for my brackish tank. I use 1 tablespoon per gallon which equates to around 1.008-1.010 SG.
