I have two ghost shrimp in a 5g tank with a betta. When I first bought them, they were "glass" and you could see through them. Lately I noticed that around the head and some toher parts of their body, they have become white. SOmetimes they have more white parts than others. Sometimes the white parts become see through again. Anyone know if this is normal?

Most likely there was a sudden change in water quality. Different pH or transferring the shrimps from hard water to soft can stress the shrimps & turn them white, eventually weakening & killing the shrimps.

with my limited ghost shrimp experience they're just about to molt or the are on the brink of death. test your water.
That's my experience, too.

But, testing the water may not tell you anything (or it may). I've had some of my ghost shrimp go white and die while others in the same tank remained clear and happy. I don't know why it happens or how to prevent it. In fact, it's happening in my 29G right now. :( :( :(
