Cichlids in a community tank?

Bala sharks are nippy and can be aggressive, that on top of the fact that they are schooling fish and belong in sets of min. of 4....they get way to big for a 30g though
if you rehomed the balas then sure. then you would be able to get one angel-two if you set up the tank right with some addequate foilage (real or fake) and kept up on WCs and added a great filter. maybe a pair of dwarf cichlids. then add some other fish, live bearer or something for some added color
but you cannot do africans, or the big bad looking cichlids like oscars and jack dempseys with community fish.
