Bristlenose catfish question...

hello all,

well in my 25g i have a bristlenose catfish, and in my 10g i have a smaller one the smaller one has smaller bristles as expected but somedays they dissapear and the next they will be back ... anyone know why, i was just curious, he is healthy so i doubt its anything bad

your gravel is too large and he is scraping off his barbels. they grow back very quickly. get smaller gravel.

yea thats just weird then. make sure there are no sharp decor in your tank...?

hmm.. maybe its the filter he sometimes squeezes behind it :s
