I am setting up a 55G amazon tank and was thinking of stocking it with a school of neons and a few angels. However, I have read conflicting stories about having these fish together. Many articles and books say they go well together, but I have also read that the angels will eat the neons. Does anyone have any firsthand experience keeping these fish together?

Also, if neons won't work with angels what other colorful schooling fish will work and keep with the amazon theme?

Yes first hand experience right here, I have actually seen an angel eat a neon, and then the angel finnished off the rest of the school :( That doesnt mean all tetras are out of the question though, as long as you get a larger species they should be fine =)

neons are angel's natural food in teh wild, although some angels are inter bred and have been fed flake food for so many generations that they "forget" that they like the taste of a wiggly neon. So no, dont put them together.
