I tried this tonight, and it made a drastic improvement in lighting in my 10gallon... Figured you guys may want to try it...
There was no reflector in my 10g's (its a regent acrylic tank, pyramidal hood) light fixture, just white plastic. So I spent some time, and taped a bunch of tinfoil into the housing, trying not to wrinkle it too much.
Results are astounding... Before upgrade, you used to see a little bit of light on the floor around my tank. Now, I have a clear shadow of the stand on the floor.
Just a cheap DIY project for you guys with smaller (and cheaper) tanks!
