Something that you might not know about me is that I follow USC (University of Southern California Trojans) Sports as I graduated from there years ago. This will be my first post relating to USC as football season hasn't started yet and that'll be when you'll start to see alot of posts. haha.

Anyways...for those who follow college basketball know that the USC basketball coach Tim Floyd signed one of the top players in the nation for next year's class in O.J. Mayo. That guy is a superstar. Too bad he's probably one and done (meaning one year of college and then off to the nba). but never fear b/c we have Lil' Romeo ready for us after that. Wait..I think it's just Romeo now right? No lil'? like how Lil' Bow Wow is now Bow Wow? Anyways, when I was told about this, I thought it was a hoax but FoxSports confirmed it.

romeo-usc-basketball.jpgThis isn't a joke, either. Percy "Romeo" Miller is putting his career on hold for a while. Romeo's father, Master P, tried out for the Toronto Raptors in 1999. The 6-foot music star/actor and son of Master P was one of three players that committed to Floyd and the Trojans on Friday.

Who wants to bet that they'll be playing Master P music at the Galen Center? "Make em' say UNGGGGGGH! Na-nah na-nah".

Oh I seriously can't wait and BEAT UCLA!

Ah, the NCAA College Basketball Tournament. I already filled up my brackets…I was a little late but I still managed to get it done. I thought that the Final Four would be Texas, Kansas, Ohio State, and Florida…I guess I was wrong. I shouldn’t have put Texas in there, I guess the only reason I did was because they are my favorite team. I thought Durant would be able to take to the team to the Final Four, at least, in his first (and maybe last) year of college. I guess it was too much to ask for a freshman to take a team to the championship in his first year, going against juniors and seniors that have already been playing the college game. A lot of big games had happened…Duke lost in the first round…now that was hilarious to see. I guess after that cheap shot on Hansbrough that Henderson gave him, they deserved to not get a chance to the big times.

But in other terms…

I don’t see why people think that this USC/UNC game is that much of a great upset. You’ve seen North Carolina carry on big wins this whole year, and if you think about it…the Trojans aren’t really that great of a team. I bet a friend of mine, a really good friend named William Becerra that USC won’t even make it, let alone, WIN, the championship game. He thinks that they’re going all the way and winning it all. Not cool at all. All because they beat Texas, doesn’t mean that they can get through any of the other teams playing, like Ohio State, Texas A&M, Florida, Kansas…not even Butler. I’m just playing about that one…Butler stinks. Anyways, back to the Trojans, they are going to lose…maybe not this next one, but in the Elite Eight. Although I am putting down the Trojans quite a bit, I still believe that they exceeded to a maximum level playing against my personal favorite…the longhorns. If they can find a way to stop key players like Hansbrough….like they did with Augustine and Durant, they can very well beat north Carolina and go against….well, Georgetown…sorry Vanderbilt…it seems like this is Georgetown’s year to get to at least the Elite Eight.

That’s just about the east though, I’m going to put up another match up that’s catching my eyes. The UCLA/Pittsburgh game will get a lot of attention. Not only because it is a match up between the number 2 and 3 seed, but they have stats that are far from different and very close. The same thing also goes for the Memphis/Texas A&M game, but Acie Law is the go-to man for the Aggies. They are very evenly matched teams and hopefully in the end, a team can top it off and win with pride. My pick for this game is UCLA. UCLA will then lose to Kansas, since the west is the easiest way to get the championship. Kansas better watch it though because they can’t get too happy going against the strong Midwest contenders, with former champion, Florida, and win-spurting UNLV, Oregon and the Cinderella story…Butler.

In the South, I am expecting Ohio State to come on top beating Tennessee and Texas A&M. I’m sorry aggies, but the better team is Ohio State, since they’re older and they have a “Titan” under the bucket, Greg Oden. Tennessee will put up a fight with Ohio State since they had that giant win against Long Beach in Round 1 with the score of 121-86. We need more of a challenge though…Texas should’ve been there…nah, never mind, they’d still lose.

The Elite Eight will contain of Florida, Oregon, Kansas, UCLA, UNC, Georgetown, Ohio State, and another upset….Texas A&M. A strong elite eight is in hand and a great championship game is in the near future….which Florida will win for the second time in a row with the same starting five (Al Horford, Corey Brewer, Taurean Green, Lee Humphrey and don’t forget, Joakim Noah). Woo…good finish to this tournament is coming up…GO FLORIDA!
