Catalina Goby

The Catalina Goby is not your typical goby that you would use for your tropical reef tank. They come from a colder climate off the Catalina Islands near Los Angeles. Because of this, they would be better suited for a specific colder/cooler tank and not for your regular reef tank. They are popular because of their bright colors. As with gobies, they would do better in small school but can quarrel with other species of gobies. Because of their small size, you can keep them in smaller size tanks like a 10 gallon fish tank. They can be fed frozen brine shrimps or mysis shrimps and are not picky eaters.

i personally never purchased these fishes as they require a different tank than most saltwater tanks available. They need a cooler tank. I’ve seen them off the coast of Catalina when I was scuba diving and the water temperature there is waaay colder than a regular saltwater fish tank.
don’t keep these in your regular tanks! they are cold water! don’t stress them out!
