Watching Fish Can Be Good For Your Health

fishlooking.jpgObserving the slow, rhythmic motions are a good way to relax and wind down after a rough day, some say...

In a stress-filled world, many people find watching colorful fish gliding through crystal clear waters of an aquarium to be a source of relaxation. Vince Kelly, president of Go Fish Aquariums Inc. in Orland Park said studies have found watching fish in aquariums has far-reaching health benefits.

"The slow, rhythmic motions and the swaying of the live coral is relaxing. And it helps autistic children focus," he said. "Children are attracted to the colors and unique movements of the fish."

i'm sure everyone knows that already but it's good to know that there is scientific proof that everyone should have a fish tank!

I could not agree more. Fish whether a pond, fresh or saltwater aquarium can be very calming.
My only caution is do not try and get more aquarium/pond than you can afford in both time and money. Also beware of the tons of anecdotal advice out there especially in some aquatic forums.

the autistic statement is so true. my moms friend and her 6 year old autistic son came over a few weeks ago. He was glued to my aquapod and didnt want to leave lol.

My dad would have to agree. Every day when he comes home from work, he comes into my room, lays on my couch, and watches the fish swim around.

Also, just wanted to add, if you are ever in the south suburbs of Chicago, check out Go Fish Aquariums. Its a really cool place, not just the fish.

That’s why I love having my fish tank on my desk at work. On days when I’m stressed and have my balls to the wall, I glance over at the tank and begin to feel all the worry and pressure fade. Sometimes I get so captivated though I have to snap out of it to make my many deadlines! :-D

I think the tank is too small for the Red Devil, he should buy a bigger tank
