Vaterfloris Rasbora

The Vaterfloris Rasbora, also known as the Orange-Finned Rasbora or Singhalese Fire Rasbora, is a fish for the specialist. Males of this species are smaller than the females and tend to be more colorful.

Rasbora veterifloris requires a well-established planted aquarium with superior water quality and stable water conditions. This species is compatible with other peaceful fish as well as others of its own species.

This Rasbora requires a warm, densely-planted breeding tank in order to spawn. After spawning, the water level should be reduced to around six inches. After the eggs hatch, usually in 36 hours, the fry will require live foods such as newly-hatched brine shrimp.

An omnivore, Vaterfloris Rasboras do well on a diet of prepared flake food, as well as freeze-dried bloodworms and tubifex.
