The Blue Peacock Cichlid (Aulonocara nyassae) originates from Lake Malawi in Africa. Male Blue Peacock Cichlid are a bright yellow to a metallic blue while females are a brown to grey body color.
The ideal aquarium size is at least a 50 gallon or larger. As with all cichlids, provide a habitat that mimicks their natural habitat is best. You can use a combination of rocks or driftwood to create hiding spots as well.
The Blue Peacock should be fed a variety of both meaty and vegetable-based foods. Feed live and frozen brine shrimp along with Spirulina-based flake and pellet foods.
