Snail ID

Can anyone ID this snail for me please

i forget the name, but whatever he is, the water is too acidic/soft for him and his shell is disintegrating.

If my eyes dont decieve me:i believe its a ramshorn.

That species of snail wont multiply like in other species of snails like the regarded cosmopolitan snail.Harmless to the aquarium,but if kept with certain species of cichlids:they will infact eat the little guy.

that looks nothing like a rams horn....more like a reg trap-door snail to me.

and I just got him so hopefully, his shell will get better. (my water is a little on the harder side where I live).

when I got him he was completly covered in algae, and after about 10 minutes my pleco had him squeeky clean lol

haha. harder water is better for snails. be warned tho this little pup will breed on its own and overpopulate quite quickly

Oh I know, I've had these type of snails before, just never knew what they were called. Sadly my loaches and tetras eat all the babies, I'll have to quaranteen them somehow if I want more. They don't need a heater do they?? could I put them in a 2gallon plastic tank 'till they get big enough?

yeah sure!
If i were you though, I'd think them loaches are a blessing in keeping unwanted pond trapdoor snails out of my tank
one big one is enough for me lol

thats true lol but I'd love to just have a few babies grow up on me haha
