YAAAAAY!!!! After almost two months of begging and pestering, my awesome LFS people have brought in some plecos!!!
This is what they have:

Common plecos 3-5inches $35
Gibbs plecos  6-8inches $180
Gold common pleco 8inches $120

And then the really big ones..200-400$ (forget it)

Can you tell me what you guys get and the prices please :) thanks heaps.

omg...OMG!!!  :'( :'( :'( I love zebra plecos...and for that price i would buy 5. If we had them here they would be 50-100$ each :(
I am still going to buy some kind of pleco tho, i will just have to s*ck eggs. :(

We have all those SAE and all the ugly little ones...they just aren't as interesting. I have to have the large ugly ones. They are so d@mn cool...My LFS is having a huge sale in a few weeks...I'll hold on till then.

Commons are pretty cheap i've seen 3-5" go for $2 anything else is going to cost you an arm and a leg.  You guys who live in southern california know where i can find zebra plecos for 9.99 or cheaper cause the lfs around where im at are like 39.99 and they are really small.

Really old message, but I did find out how much a Zebra Pleco costs in Australia :(

$450 to $500 US! Dollars. Thats $850 to $950 bucks Australian... damn :(

If you can't find cheap ones at the store, have you try buying it online soapwater?  Check out http://www.tropfish.com./.  I think it's $15.00.

I might be wrong, but I think by "Black Zebra Pleco" they mean the zebra pleco with a brownish color and black stripes instead of a pure white. I've seen a few of them, and they are cheaper than normal zebras.

how would i go about shipping and paying for them? I don't have a credit card either. I don't have the tank for zebra plecos, but i'd probably get a lot of other fish if i could ship here.

Your government banned plecos from being imported :(

I believe you need a permit to send fish internationally, I think they are stopped at customs, and inspected. When we get fish, one box from every order is checked to make sure it has fish, other than that the rest are allowed to go through. Unfortunately, theres like no way to import a pleco to Australia (with certain exceptions for like zoos and aquariums), cept to smuggle them in.

You would pay for it by international money order tho.

BTW: look at the specials section, "TRUE ZEBRA PLECOS 35.00" :(
