Hi All,

Hope you had a good weekend...

My question is this...why do puffers pace?

My little green spotted swims up and down or back and forth the front of my tank all day...

Usually it's because they need some mental stimulation. They are very intelligent and get bored with their surroundings. Do you have caves, plants, etc. for it to explore?

Thanks for the reply...yep I do have a log with multiple holes to play in, and plants, and I just got him a friend. He is not pacing now...and they both like to play in the current...I LOVE my puffers!!!!

Lots of puffers like bubble walls to 'ride' on the bubbles, so if you don't have one, that might help with the pacing. Like f8fan said, they are just bored so be sure to provide lots of nooks and crannies for them to explore, and move things around every so often.
