White Bugs in Betta Tank!

A few days ago, I noticed that my male betta's tail had ripped, so I changed his water and started treating him with Tetra Lifeguard. However, today I noticed a second rip in his fin and that there are these little white bugs in the gravel. What are they, and how do I get rid of them? Could the bugs be eating at his fins?

Please help!

theyre possibly mites. detritivores, not likely responsible for your bettas fin. other than being annoying to look at the mites do nothing. they are not the parasitic kind.

Sometimes 'bugs' that are visible on substrate are an indication of poor water quality - this can also exacerbate your fish's condition, whatever it is that caused the fin damage. Be careful not to overfeed, and do regular water changes, vacuuming your substrate if needed. What kind of tank do you have? What's your cleaning schedule like?
