What kinds of gouramis can go together? I know that's sounds like a dumb question but I just want to be sure...types as in powder blues, sunsets, paradise, opaline etc. Just males or a mix?

The only gouramis that I know for sure you can mix are pearl gouramis. It is generally recommended that unless you are specifically trying to breed the other types, you should only have one at a time.

I have a thirty gallon, would pearls and opalines mix? They're my two favorites but I would settle for just one considering the fish don't mix.

You can mix pearls, but opalines are territorial and aggressive. I had one in my 29gal for a while and he kept my seven tiger barbs in line.

Honeys are supposed to be non-aggressive, mostly due to their size and breeding. However, if you have these little gourami don't add any other kinds.

often dwarf gouramis can go in male/female pairs. Just be sure they're male/female! Also, AqAdvisor can be wrong. It said my betta imbellis would be fine with guppies, but I can't without constant missing tails. So, be sure to do extra research!

Yeah idk about AqAdvisor, saying a filter rated for 80 gallons isn't sufficient for 40 gallons with 3 fish. My dream gourami tank just got upgraded from a 30 gallon to a 40 breeder so I get to have some fun with that! ^.^
