tiresome eel

ok so in the past hour my eel has gone in the water filter about 4 times. if i watch him he wont do it and then i turn my back and hes in there. i dont want him to get hurt and cant figure out how he gets in there. what can i do to deture him from going in the water filter or stop him all together help mr eintstein please!

Well how is it finding its way INTO the filter? Up the tube? Up a hose?

i put a video camera next to the fishtank and low and behold he is leveraging himself by scaling up the hose and into the filter *aaahhh*ai have lowered the water level and hopefully this will stop mr einstein from vanishing into the nasty ravine of the water filter. *cross my fingers*

LMAO thats funny! They can be VERY good escape artists! Glad you figured it out and hopefully can now keep him IN the tank...good luck!

unfortunately dropping the water level hasnt helped and i cant take out more b/c i dont want to make the water level too low. hes only in a 10gal right now and is suppose to be in a bigger tank..*aahhh* well i hope that he just only escapes in the water filter at least hes not landed out of the tank yet.
