The aqua clear filters

Ok ive had an aqua clear filter for about and year and when i was setting it up it said i needed 3 things for the inside 1. the foam 2. The carbon 3. the bio max thing . Thats the thing it said i need the bio max and when i went to the petstore the guy told me that aqua clear stopped making it and i would have to make it my self and spend 20 bucks for the stuff. I wasent into that idea . Well any ways i was at this pet store recently and saw that they had the inserts [bio max] that i needed but from a diffrent brand and it said it works in aqua clear.
The qustion is that do i need thee bio max level or not!

For biological filtration, you do.
Look for Fluval Biomax instead of Aquaclear. It's the same thing and I found it at my petco/smart.

Skip the biomax and just add more sponge inserts. Gives more than enough area for bacteria and adds additional filtering. I have ran AC filters for years and never used anything except the foam. If you are dead set on using the biomax I might have some from my filters that I never used. If I do you can have it all for cost of shipping.
