Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with freshwater rays.  I have a 90-gallon with a Lima Shovelnose, pleco, irredescant, bala and I am looking for something different.  I was looking online and found very little about species and their sizes.  I guess teacups don't really stay small. Please help.

Teacups are by far the smallest of the freshwater stingrays, averaging out at about 12" diameter... Personally, I've never kept them, but ahve been fascinated by them since I saw one swimming around in my LFS fish tank...  I've done a fair amount of research, I'll give lyou the links I've found the most info on...

Thank you so much for the reply.  Your second link was helpful.  I ran into a new pet store yesterday, and the owner gave me a good idea of what to purchase.  He said that the teacups are very difficult to keep.  In many cases he will get a shipment of 4 or 5, and only 1 will survive after a couple of days.  He recommended that I get a motoro ray.  They get to be about 18 in.  He had one in stock and he demonstrated that he was very active and playful (somewhat unusual, considering all the ones that I have seen just sit at the bottom doing nothing).  Anyways, thank you, and if you need to buy any fish, this guy can find any fish and ship it to you.
