Snail Question!! (Could do with answer fast and DON'T LAUGH!)

Some people may think this is a stupid question - but hey - I'm honest enough to ask it without being embarassed.
Can Black Mystery Snails and Apple Snails.. you know.. have babies together?
I have an apple snail.. and instead of getting another apple snail (i couldn't possibly face having to kill all the babies! :() I thought i'd try a new snail to add to the tank instead.. but if they can - then i'll stick to getting a cory! lol

Thanks. AND Try not to laugh too much. *BOUNCINGS

I think what TLH was saying is that most snails reproduce asexually, meaning that it only takes one snail to lay and fertilize the eggs. This is true. However, apple snails reproduce sexually, so a male and female are needed. Black Mystery Snails are just one species within the "apple snail" family. There are many different species of apple snail. It's really hard to say if the ones you have are of the same species, but I wouldn't be suprised if you do see eggs. Most LFS's don't know every species of snail they sell, so they just call them "apple snails."
